Scan before it arrives
Check over both shoulders before the ball reaches you. Know your out-ball early so the decision is already made when you touch it.

Open your hips
Receive slightly side-on with hips open to the field. An open body shape lets you see the next pass and play forward in one touch.

Pass with conviction
Ankle locked, strike firm through the middle of the ball. A soft, underhit pass invites the press — weight it so your teammate can play first time.
