W hands behind the ball
Thumbs nearly touching, fingers spread around the contour. Thumbs firmly behind the ball so power can't burst through the hands.

Soft elbows absorb pace
Reach with arms extended but never locked. Let the elbows bend on contact to cushion the shot — stiff arms spill rebounds.

Watch it into the gloves
Keep your head steady and eyes on the ball all the way into the hands. Looking away a split second early is where drops come from.
