Power step to the post
Push a short power step toward the ball side and drive off that foot. The step gives the dive its distance — no step, no reach.

Lead with the hands
Fire hands first, fully extended at the ball. Every inch of extension through fingers is reach you don't get from the body alone.

Land on your side
Land side-on and roll through shoulder to hip to absorb impact. Landing flat on the stomach or back is slow and spills the ball.
